The Wood Working Show!

Milwaukee Makerspace

Milwaukee Makerspace is at The Wood Working Show this weekend! While we are not exactly traditional wood workers (well, some of our members are) we were invited to share with attendees what exactly a makerspace is, and what goes on at one.

We brought a variety of projects, some wood (typically created with the laser cutter or CNC router) and some that cover casting, forging, leather working, robotics, prop-making, glass etching, kinetic sculpture, and 3D printing. We do have a beautiful wood bookcase that Keith built which includes wood inlays that were created using the laser cutter.

Hammer and Pi

You may even see the Hammer of Futility and a tiny slideshow run by a Raspberry Pi!

Maker Faire Milwaukee

We’re also here to tell people about Maker Faire Milwaukee, and spread the word about making in general which, given the audience, should result in some great conversations.

The show is Friday, March 11th-13th, Friday 12-6; Saturday 10-6; Sunday 10-3 in Hall C of the Wisconsin Expo Center at State Fair Park. If you go to the show, stop by and say “Hi!”
